Training Paths

Every team member should start with the course Initial Training for the Entire Team. After they complete this first course, they should become their training lineups as laid out below.

Ideally, all of the staff would watch all of the videos – i.e. it wouldn’t hurt if your entire team watched the “Phone Skills,” or “Hygiene and Retention” Courses. I. Initial Training for the Entire Team, 10 lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 10 minutes)

Covers an introduction to the management system used by MGE, how to successfully study the material on DDS Success, Communication Basics, Different Patient Types and an Overview of the Sales Process and Dentistry.

II. Receptionist Training Course, 9 lessons, (Course Length: 42 minutes)

Instructor: Carla Dezelic

Covers the complete job description and daily duties for the receptionist position, with instructions for every aspect of the job.

III. Schedule Coordinator Training Course - 47 lessons, (Course Length: 3 hours and 22 minutes)

Instructor: Carla Dezelic

This course is split into two parts. This first part covers the goals and daily duties of the Scheduling Coordinator, an overview of what a dental office schedule looks like and how it works, all aspects of scheduling for the hygiene department, how to schedule for the doctor, double booking, block scheduling, and more.


IV. Financial Coordinator Training Course, 46 Lessons, (Course Length: 3 hours and 33 minutes)

Instructor: Carla Dezelic

Complete training for the job of the Financial Coordinator in a dental office, including working with insurances, estimating benefits, verifying insurance, filing claims, billing accepting payments, making financial arrangements, posting payments, auditing accounts, tracking statistics, etc.

V. Customer Service in a Dental Office, 4 Lessons, (Course Length: 27 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Winteregg, DDS

Covers the keys to delivering great service, tips on how to maintain a professional, yet friendly environment and make patients feel comfortable and important.

VI. Basic Case Acceptance Training, 9 Lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 37 minutes)

Covers the basics of case acceptance (sales) in a dental practice, including how to handle the top 6 objections, the scale of sales resistance, the financial discussion, prepaying, and more!

VII. Advanced Case Acceptance Training - The Scale of Selling, 10 lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 27 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Winteregg, DDS

Covers the Scale of Selling. Includes demonstrations by Dr. Winteregg on how to apply this material to a case presentation.

VIII. The Art of Scheduling Productively 16 Lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 34 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Winteregg, DDS

Comprehensive training on the MGE patient scheduling system, allowing you to maximize production while running on-time and having plenty of time to present treatment.

IX. Phone Skills, 14 Lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 6 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Hughes, DDS, CEO Viva Concepts

Comprehensive training to teach a dental receptionist how to handle the phones effectively and drastically increase the conversion percentage for new patient calls...resulting in more new patients! Includes incredibly simple, yet effective methods for converting, "Shopper," and "Second Opinion" calls along with addressing inquiries about benefits.

X. Hygiene & Patient Retention, 9 Lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 2 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Hughes, DDS, CEO Viva Concepts

Over time, the average dentist can lose almost 90% of their patient base. In this course Dr. Hughes teaches you how to reverse this trend with a blueprint that can help you create a highly profitable (and always growing) Hygiene Department. XI. Marketing a Dental Practice, 19 Lessons, (Course Length: 2 hours and 8 minutes)

Instructors: Adam Mortimer, Greg Hughes, DDS, Jeff Blumberg

Covers the overall strategy for internal and external marketing of a dental practice, including how to get more word-of-mouth referrals, improve your online presence, caluclate marketing return-on-investment and have an excellent rating on online review sites.

XII. Advanced Training On Different Patient Types, 28 Lessons, (Course Length: 3 hour and 8 minutes)

Instructor: Jeff Blumberg

Dentistry is a people business, and people are different! The technology covered in this course is tremendously valuable for understanding the different types of personalities you'll encounter and how to interact with them positively, whether it's for staff management or communicating with patients.

XIII. Effective Communication, 11 Lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 28 minutes)

We break down every aspect of how to effectively communicate and teach you the skills required to always be understood!

XIV. The 4 Steps of Selling, 11 Lessons, (Course Length: 2 hour and 25 minutes)

Instructor: Dr. Greg Winteregg

Learn the four exact steps you should take in any treatment plan presentation. This course includes lots of examples and demonstrations, so you can see exactly how to use it in different scenarios with patients.

XVI. Advanced Case Acceptance Training - Presenting Treatment Options, 13 lessons, (Course Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes)

Instructor: Greg Winteregg, DDS

Dr. Winteregg shares how he personally treatment planned and presented options to patients, as well as incredible tools from the Hubbard Management System to help you ethically and responsibly present options to your patients and successfully guide them toward the ideal treatment plan that will be best for their health.

Courses Currently In Production

The following courses have already been filmed and are currently in post-production. All told they cover about eight more hours of content and 70+ lessons:

I. The Sales Line

15+ lessons covering every aspect of the sales line (from a new patient calling the practice through the exam, consult, financial discussion and then starting treatment). Excellent course for the entire team with plenty of examples and demonstrations in a dental environment of how to use this material.

II. All About Associates

Learn how to determine if and when you need an associate, how to find one that's a good fit in your practice, seamlessly integrate them into your office, and to ensure they are successful. Also includes specifics on several different types of associate compensation (pay) plans.

III. Practical Exercises, Drills, Essays & Tests! Ensure your team members are absorbing and using the information as they do the courses. Packets containing instructions for these exercises and answer keys for the tests will be sent to the primary account holder for use by the practice owner or office manager in overseeing the training.

Courses and Features Coming in the Future

Lesson plans are in place for a TON of additional content that will take us well into the future! The next batch of content (some of which has already begun filming),includes:

I. Dentistry 101: For new staff with no dental experience. Visual explanation and discussion of all key front office and clinical terms in a dental office.

II. Dental Office Positional Training (For All Front Office Positions and Non-Clinical Aspects of Back-Office positions): Consists of complete "position-specific" training for all front office positions and the non-clinical aspects of back office positions in a dental office. Extraordinarily detailed with exact "how-tos" for each function and duty of each position. Includes accompanying job descriptions, forms, checklists and complete manuals for each job:
